The angles, the curves
The points in which my anatomy intertwines
Braided into the outline of a crooked bay
As if it was improvised

I am a kaleidoscope
compiled with infinite colors.
A cosmic spectrum of hues.

I glared at God, squinted at the sun, and kicked the earth beneath my feet. I wished the angels would come shooting down like stars. I wished Eden would fall into pieces; only then he’d know what it feels like to live among ruins…

Papa lift me on your shoulder let me reach beyond this cloud
Toss me into the air so that my body can grab my soul
We stole the heat of the sun and blamed God for the cold in our bones

Just like a small piece of wood can
clog a hole,
the youngest child becomes a dam,
stopping the flood,
rescuing the boat.

But I do know about our mutual dream
of holding hands
to face a cruel world that won’t feel too cruel

My love, my hope, my faithful patriots
Are slowly dying to stay alive
Presented with only two

Undignified choices to survive:
The fisherman’s bread
Or
The sashimi of corruption

Molded and carved into a shapely
Porcelain statue, to be placed on a pedestal
Gazed upon, up-on their shoulders,
Well raised, ungrazed, untouched,
Behold… Isn’t she beautiful?

The paper lies empty on my bed at night
And my pen won’t bleed anymore
